It's like I just discovered black

I won't mention any names, but an artistic authority figure once told me to never use black when painting. Well, I've always kept that in mind when doing pieces (although I deviated once in a while... but just a little). UNTIL NOW.

I was brainstorming one night and thought it would be cool to put interesting solid areas of black on to the canvas AND THEN paint colourful lines. 

Well, I did the lion first and I had a lot of fun doing it, and love how it turned out. So I tried another. Let's just say I had a black paint revolution.
